Carnivorous Plants

Carnivorous plants are fascinating.  They grow in conditions and soils that most other plants can’t survive in.  They receive their nutrients from insects and other small invertebrate which they trap and digest.  Most carnivorous plants have beautiful and unusual flowers and beautiful, colorful leaves and plant parts.
The carnivorous plants that I grow and propagate are all native to many parts of the U.S. but especially the southeast. Most all these need a dormant period in the winter in order to thrive.  There are many tropical carnivorous but this page is concerned with cold hardy carnivorous plants. These are divided into 5 different genera.
