Elephant Ears
These are plants in the Aroid family. There are three genus that I like to collect. Alocasias, Colocasias, and Xanthosomas. The traditional looking elephant ear with large, floppy leaves is a typical example of a Colocasia. The big, upright, stiff leaved elephan ears are usually the Alocasias. The Xanthosomas usually have stiff leaves that are more horizontal than vertical.
